Despite Health Ministry assurances that a more accurate daily COVID cases total reporting policy would be implemented, daily cases totals were still much lower than provincial figures would suggest.
The Health Ministry had earlier revealed to Khmer Times that it’s daily COVID case figures were not accurate – as they do not include provincial totals submitted after 6pm.
Today’s official daily new COVID case total was therefore again lower than expected with Cambodia announcing an official daily new cases total of 411, bringing the COVID case total to 91,369 cases.
The total number of Community Cases is now 76,661 with 14,708 cases being imported.
85 imported cases were announced today as imported case numbers continue to be higher as a consequence of the Thai border reopening on August the 13th.
News of 209 new ‘Delta’ cases announced today shows that ‘Delta’ is becoming an increasing worry for Cambodia with the border provinces and Phnom Penh bearing the brunt of the new cases.
