Record Covid-19 death day for Cambodia as fatalities pass 1,000

As the Covid-19 pandemic remain ubiquitous in the country more and more lives are claimed by the deadly disease. Cambodia reached a dark hall mark today as the country’s death officially surpasses the 1,000 mark.

The country recorded 996 new cases today, pushing Covid-19 numbers higher and higher. The country breached the 64,000 line for total cases. The growing numbers have left the population and the healthcare system and personnel reeling from the seemingly uncontrollable path of the pandemic.

The country also recorded an all time high in deaths today. The deaths reported is 39. The new deaths push the national death toll to 1,025. The number is a grim reminder of the deadly effect of the virus.

The country also recorded 167 imported cases. As an influx of Cambodian migrant workers return home, more and more imported cases are recorded. The fear of the Delta strain of Covid-19 is very much palpable. The reported total of imported cases is 5,514.
