Cambodia confirms 654 new cases; tally now almost 9,000

The bad COVID-19 situation in Cambodia continues as the Kingdom today recorded 654 new  COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the total number of cases closer to 9,000.

Like the previous days this week, Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville reported the highest number of new patients, despite both of them being put under lockdown.

The capital yesterday detected 522 new cases, including 519 Cambodians, 2 Chinese and 1 Vietnamese. Meanwhile, 113 Cambodian people in Sihanoukville, which according to the authorities will be under lockdown for another 14 days, yesterday tested positive for the coronavirus.
