Two deaths and 55 new cases marks Black Thursday for Cambodia in its fight to contain COVID-19 outbreak

Cambodia’s death toll increased to seven with two new deaths reported today directly attributed to COVID-19.

The ministry of health said that the dead are a 38-year-old Cambodian male from Phnom Penh. He was tested positive on March 16 after he had contracted the virus from female artist with who, they performed together.

He succumbed to his ailment from COVID-19 at 7:35 am today. The reason for his death, as reported by the ministry is the standard obesity and hypertension, leading to his lungs being severely damaged. His name given was Chhean Bunthoeun, a free-lance host in television shows.
