Cambodia’s COVID-19 cases linked to the February 20 Community Event increased by double digits again with 27 new cases reported today, bringing the total cases related to the event to 1,293.
Most of the new cases confirmed by the Health Ministry this morning are detected in Phnom Penh, with 22 people tested positive for coronavirus yesterday. They include 18 Cambodians, 2 Americans, 1 Chinese, and 1 Nigerian. Among the new patients, 16 are reported to have not been sent to treatment facilities yet.
Meanwhile, Kandal, the province that neighbours the capital, reported one new case today, identified as a 3-year-old boy from Lvea Em district.
After days of no new cases, the authorities in Koh Kong found 3 new patients, all Chinese men, age 26,29 and 32, all residing Kirisakor’s Kon Kok village. The new cases brings Koh Kong’s total number of cases to 18.
