Cambodia welcomed the long-awaited first batch of AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccines at the Phnom Penh International Airport yesterday evening.
Government officials, dignitaries and members of the media huddled around the freshly arrived boxes of AstraZeneca, as World Health Organization (WHO) employees slapped fresh Covax stickers on each of them.
During a press conference at the airport, WHO representative to Cambodia Dr Li Ailan urged Cambodians to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
“If it is your turn to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, get vaccinated as soon as possible. If it’s not your turn, please wait patiently to give priority to priority groups, because they need to be protected first,” Dr Ailan said.
