City’s clean water supplies to stabilise by by 2025

Drinking water supplies will stablise in Phnom Penh and Takmao town south of the capital over the next five years, thanks to new water treatment facilities coming on-line between now and 2025.

The 600,000 cubic meters of drinking water produced daily for habitants of the capital region is slated to increase to one million cubic meters by that five-year target.

The Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) has faced a sharp increase in the demand for potable water since 2010. This increase is attributed to the rise in construction activities of high-rise buildings as well as the increase in population.
